Successful product data management @ grafiskkvalitet
Working with DCD/CGS Nordic on their website grafikkvalitet.dk was a great success, the project went so well in fact that the Color Management experts decided to entirely revamp their website, as it is now a manageable scope to do so, with the simple excel based data management tool I custom built and implemented for them – complete with documentation and knowledge management, to make it possible for them to be maintain order and overview without the need for further consultation.
A big part of the work and the success was in creating a culture of documentation and project management, that facilitated better and easier collaboration, which means valuable time in a small business.
Above is a snippet of the excel magic sheet created for DCD/CGSnordic – By filling out information in this sheet tab, it automatically populates another tab with relevant information, formatted for upload to the shop.
Documentation does not always have to be pretty, functional and present is much more important – especially when it is for internal use on a small team, where any one person changing job is a wealth of information lost.
This example here, is documentation of part of the process for uploading a csv-file with new products, to the old webshop.
